My mom went in to get a bite mark on her dog looked at. They kept the dog overnight and when she went to pick her up, the dog died from choking on her choke chain. This just happened today, very sad day for my mom! Would not recommend them!
I took my 6 year old Rottie to Dr. Dorr in Delta CO on Sat. May 13, 2017 for a tumor on his ear. This Dr. asks me to hold my dog while he examines him. He asked me to put a muzzle on him as the ear was so painful he wouldn't let him touch it.. I did this and he pinched and pulled on the tumor causing it to start bleeding and oozing and Bull did growl during this treatment but with a muzzle on the Dr. and his tech were safe and I was there also. I made an appointment for Tues. May 16, 2017 to have this tumor removed. When I arrived his techs. started petting and loving on my dog and the vet told them to get back and not touch him. They both stated that Bull loves them and he just doesn't like being restrained. I then placed him on the scale and he weighed 139.6 and I put a muzzle on him so the Dr. could give him the shot to start his lethargy for the procedure. Bull only winced in pain from this shot. I asked for bloodwork for Glucose levels and Thyroid levels as he has gained 30 lbs since this vet neutered him. I also asked for a heartworm test so I could get him back on his heartworm regamin. I was then told to pick him up by 4:30 and I said I would. At 12:45 I checked my cell and had 4 missed calls for Dr. Dorrs office the first at 9:14 a.m. The Dr. left me a message that Bull didn't make it and he wanted to talk to me. I left work and asked my husband to call as I couldn't even talk. He then told my husband that Bull didn't go to sleep so they gave him another shot. He said Bull woke up aggressive and he wrapped a rope around his neck to contain him while he tried to do a local and work on the ear while Bull was awake. He said Bull began thrashing and spinning until he strangled on the rope and he went into cardiac arrest and he was not able to arouse him. This is a case of animal abuse. No dog should be strangled at the hand of his veterinarian. This vet should have known the dosage to give him as I had just helped get his weight for him. I also don't believe a dog would wake up this aggressive. I believe after 2 shots he should have been too lethargic to do much of anything. When talking to my husband Dr. Dorr continues to insist that Bull was an aggressive dog. Bull only acted up in the veterinarians office when he was in pain. Absolutely no other time. My whole family and all my friends are willing to witness how friendly and loving this dog was. I am sickened by this and I would like to stop this man from abusing any other animals.
Always helpful and compassionate when treating our pets and when dealing with us.
